Iliamna River Lodge sits on the Iliamna River at the head of Alaska’s renowned Bristol Bay watershed. This is, without question, one of the best fishing areas in the state. In addition, the lodge is surrounded by breath-taking Alaskan scenery. The lodge boasts fantastic homewater fishing on the Iliamna River in combination with the option to fly out to some of the best salmon and trout streams in the Katmai and greater Bristol Bay region.
In general, the Iliamna River is "the bread and butter" fishery for Iliamna River Lodge with exceptional fishing fishing for Arctic char, rainbow trout, and sockeye salmon. There are several braids and back channels that offer different methods of fishing (wading, drifting, shore fishing, etc). The river itself has an aqua marine turquoise color that is truly unique to the region. The neon red sockeye salmon glow against the blue in a color combination that can't be see anywhere else in nature. Fly outs can be added at a daily rate while you are at the lodge to add even more variety of fishing experience. Iliamna River Lodge has dedicated float planes as they own and operate Rainbow River Air Taxi. Iliamna River Lodge is great for families and couples as it can offer many non-fishing activities also - fat biking, ocean tours, kayaking, and more. Each day is customizable to your specific interests.
The newly built lodge was modeled after their sister lodge - Rainbow River Lodge. It boasts an open layout with a commercial kitchen, dining area, and comfortable great room looking over the Iliamna River. Share a fish story by the wood stove, enjoy a cocktail at the bar, or chat with our executive chef at the kitchen counter about your own culinary interests. The main lodge is a comfortable space to enjoy the compnay of your fellow anglers all while feeling like you're in your own home.
The spacious guest cabins are appointed with efficient heating, walk-in showers, and a front porch that boasts fantastic views of nearby peaks and the Iliamna River.
Dinners like one would find in finer restaurants are served in the main lodge. The bell for breakfast rings early for anglers anxious to get out and fly fish this treasured Iliamna Lake region of Alaska. Dining or relaxing, the lodge provides the perfect setting for many pleasant moments of conversations and memories. Rest assured that you won't leave for a day of fishing without a full belly. Also note that because Pedro Bay is a dry village guests are responsible for providing their own alcohol, and the crew is happy to assist you in that process.
