Alaska Fly Tying Video: Dirty Diving Sculpin

Learn to tie one of the best sculpin patterns for Alaska in only 6 minutes.

When coming up to Alaska in search of monster trout, don' forget to throw a few sculpin patterns in your bag. Throughout the year, trout will take advantage of a properly placed sculpin imitation at just about any time. In this video Lee Kuepper goes over how to tie up one of his favorites.

The "Dirty Diving Sculpin" is tied on a jig hook so the pattern swims head down, using the current to push it towards the bottom. Utilizing only 3 materials, this fly is made with 3 things in mind; imitation, movement, and durability. Make sure you have a few in your box this summer.
