Mission Lodge is located on Lake Aleknagik near the town in Dillingham in the Bristol Bay region of Alaska. The lodge accesses the best trout and salmon rivers in the region by De Havilland Beaver floatplanes that they own. The Mission Lodge program allows them to fly out daily to different rivers and streams depending on the time of the year and the species that you are interested in. They have the ultimate program for a variety of fishing experience with respect to species and style of fishing (e.g. jet boats, drifting, walk & wade, etc). The Bristol Bay watershed boasts a great number of rivers that play host to five species of Pacific salmon, rainbow trout, Arctic char, grayling, and pike. There are different fishing opportunities depending on the time of the year. The Mission Lodge guides and staff will make sure you have the best opportunity for fun and success given the weather and fishing conditions each day.
Each evening, our head guide will discuss fishing options and your specific interests for the following day. The guides will then prepare for the next day. The next morning after breakfast you board one of the float planes and head out with a guide (or to a spike camp with a guide waiting) to one of the many world class, and in some cases world famous, rivers and streams of our region. Depending on the location the lodge will have jet boats to take up and down the river to fish from or get you to different gravel bars for wading.
