Fishing & Guided Activities
Kulik Lodge is uniquely situated in the middle of Katmai National Park, the epicenter of the best rainbow trout fishing in Alaska (possibly the world). Kulik is known to be the first fishing lodge in Alaska, and its location was chosen with great intention. The lodge is located on the Kulik River, one of the most productive Rainbow Trout fisheries in the world. This is their homewater. It's an amazing trout river, and is consistently productive from June through October. During August and September, the Kulik River will be full of spawning sockeye salmon, attracting many Katmai brown bears fattening up for the winter months. Fishing on the Kulik is the scene most anglers think of when considering fishing in Alaska - snowcapped peaks, brown bears, and gin clear water full of large rainbow trout.
In addition to the Kulik River homewater, you will have the opportunity to fly out to the surrounding Katmai rivers for a day of trout and/or salmon fishing. The fly out experience offers added variety of fishing situations and a change of scenerey. You may walk and wade a small stream for salmon or raft a scenic river and fish from teh boat. And, of course, the flight seeing inside Katmai National Park is phenomenal. When you consider the fishing, the bears, the flying and Katmai landscape, the overall Alaska experience with Kulik Lodge is truly one-of-a-kind.
