The best Alaska fishing lodges will offer the angler a combination of both fly-out fishing to nearby streams and trophy fishing on their "Home" river. Alaska Rainbow Lodge is located on the Kvichack River, home to Alaska's biggest Rainbow Trout. From ARL you are a 15-25 minute flight to the best and most famous Trophy Rainbow Trout wade fly fishing streams in Bristol Bay.
Guests of Alaska Rainbow Lodge have fantastic angling opportunities. You will have access to every stream in the famous Bristol Bay area of Western Alaska - 30 in all. The benefit of choosing to visit ARL is that whether you decide to fly-out to fish a nearby stream or stay and experience the wonders that Kvichak River has to offer, your fishing day will be filled with adventure and excitement. All of these fly-outs are included in the package price.
Alaska Rainbow Lodge will fish by wading, drifting, casting, or plugging. You can fly fish or use conventional gear. There are streams that are designated as fly fishing only areas, and there are rivers that allow either fly fishing or the use of conventional gear. The type of fishing you do is you choice. Alaska Rainbow Lodge practices fly fishing only for Rainbow Trout, Arctic Char, & Grayling, and all are catch and release. Alaska Fly Fishing in Bristol Bay is the best on the planet.
Lodge Details
Alaska Rainbow Lodge is one of the most modern in Alaska. Each plush, carpeted, soundproofed bedroom has a large private bath, and is outfitted with a queen and a twin size extra long bed. The lodge has thermostatically controlled forced-air heat and 24-hour electricity. The dining room has ample seating for 20 guests. Overlooking the river, the lounge has a personal atmosphere and a lot of room for socializing. The lodge is never overcrowded and never has masses of guests all competing for the same fishing hole. There is a complete fly-tying bench with all the materials available.
Alaska Rainbow Lodge has five double bedrooms inside the lodge plus six single bedrooms in private guest cabins. The remote location allows for plenty of solitude and amazing scenery, not to mention our trophy caliber fishing.
Food & Beverage
At The Rainbow Lodge, they serve only the finest food, prepared with great care by a blue ribbon chef. Choice dinner specialties include Alaskan king crab, Filet Mignon, Prime Rib, Alaska Shrimp, Alaska Halibut, Chicken, Baby Back Ribs and many more tasty delicacies to satisfy the hearty fisherman's appetite. Daily, homemade breads, delicious pastries and gourmet delights are served with each lodge meal.
Sample Itinerary

Day 1
You will need to travel to King Salmon via commercial airline or fly the Alaska Rainbow Lodge charter flight. Upon arrival in King Salmon, guests are picked up in King Salmon by lodge aircraft for a 30-minute flight to the lodge. Once you arrive at the lodge you will have the opportunity to unpack and get settled before getting fishing licenses with the lodge staff. That evening, the head guide will visits with each angler about your specific fishing interests for the week.

Day 2 - 7
Six full days of guided fishing commences. Each morning starts with coffee and/or juice delivered to your room. Breakfast is served early, between 6 and 7 a.m. After breakfast, everyone prepares for the fishing day. Normally, planes and boats depart the lodge dock between 7:30 – 8:00 a.m. After fishing a great day of fishing our aircraft, boats and anglers return to the lodge between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m. Cocktails and appetizers are served around 6:00 p.m. and dinner is usually scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

Day 8
Guests check out of the lodge after breakfast and are flown thirty minutes to the King Salmon Airport. Check in for commercial or charter flight back to Anchorage. In most cases, it is not necessary to overnight in Anchorage on the back end of your trip.
Travel Details
Alaska Rainbow Lodge operates on a Friday – Friday schedule. The first leg of the trip is accomplished by guests reaching Anchorage, Alaska, which is serviced by numerous commercial carriers. Most guests opt to fly to Anchorage on Thursday and spend the night at one of our recommended hotels before traveling to the lodge on Friday morning.
The second leg of the trip, on Friday, is a one hour flight (285 miles) from Anchorage to King Salmon. Guests may either book their own commercial ticket on PenAir from Anchorage to King Salmon, or have the lodge arrange a private charter flight for $650 per passenger. After landing in King Salmon, guests and luggage are collected by ARL’s planes for the final thirty minute flight to the lodge. Upon arrival at the lodge, guests have time to unpack and get oriented before getting fishing licenses, meeting guides, and getting outfitted with any necessary gear.
